My name is Hanan Samadi (she/her), and I graduated from the University of Tehran (the top-ranked university in my country) with an MSc degree in Engineering Geology (and with a 4/4 GPA). My MSc thesis and projects were heavily shifted toward rock mechanics and tunneling. I was recently awarded Young Tunneller of the Year by the ITA AWARD 2024, then joined ITAym and served as chief of IRTAym. I have published over 40 peer-reviewed articles, introduced a software patent, received 18 awards, been an invited speaker 10 times, and achieved more than 15 research grants. I have more than 5 years of industry and academic experience in geotechnics and tunnelling. Hanan has joined as a member of several tunnelling, rock mechanics, and geotechnical committees since 2018.
