Ivan is a chartered engineer with more than 20 years of experience in underground engineering. He started his career in Hong Kong and participated in major tunnelling projects such as the DSD Harbour Area Treatment Scheme Stage 2A, the Hong Kong West Drainage Tunnel and MTR Shatin to Central Link Metro projects. His experience with consultancy covers various project delivery stages, from feasibility study, reference design to detailed design and CPS stage. He also has experience working for the tunnelling principal contractor on design and build tunnel project in Hong Kong. Since Ivan joined SMEC Australia in 2015, he has been involved in major tunnel projects in Australia including NorthConnex, WestConnex, Sydney Metro, Melbourne Metro and Adelaide BHP mine site development Study. Ivan has been involved in Snowy 2.0 project since 2017 in the Reference Design stage. Currently, he is the underground excavation design review lead and the owner’s engineer responsible for the powerhouse cavern design and construction.
