Dr Bernard has been involved in the development of shotcrete and fibre reinforced concrete for 30 years. He is the chair of the Australian Shotcrete Society and has held various positions in international technical bodies related to concrete and tunnelling. He is currently involved in research related to shotcrete durability, lining behaviour, and ultra high performance concrete.
