China Railway Academy Group Co., Ltd. (CRA) is the sole comprehensive scientific and technological corporation under China Railway Group Limited (CREC). With a legacy spanning over 60 years, CRA is committed to advancing research, innovation, and technology application in specialized areas such as tunnelling and underground works, engineering geology and geological hazard prevention, and bridge and structural engineering. CRA offers a wide range of professional services, including design and consulting, geological prediction, instrumentation and monitoring, testing and inspection, intelligent supervision, defect repair, adverse geology treatment, operation and maintenance management, environmental monitoring and assessment, as well as heritage site rehabilitation. Additionally, CRA publishes Modern Tunnelling Technology (first issue in 1964), the official journal of China’s tunnelling industry. 

To promote technological cooperation and exchange with the international tunnelling community, the CREC International Tunnelling and Underground Space Research Center (CITURC) was established by CREC with the support of China's tunnelling industry. Focused on international collaborative research, technology application, technical exchange, industry training, and consultancy, CITURC is committed to sharing China’s tunnelling experience and expertise, and encouraging the application of advanced technologies and best practices to support sustainable development in China and other countries, thus contributing to the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
