Presentation

Advances of trenchless technology for underground infrastructures

Trenchless Technology consist of underground construction methods of utility installation, rehabilitation, inspection, location and leak detection, with minimum excavation from the surface. For the three categories of trenchless technologies, i.e. new installation, rehabilitation, and inspection, International Society of Trenchless Technology (ISTT) has developed a new technical guideline, in which the definitions and figures were given. According to this technical guideline, the advances of major trenchless technologies were introduced. Furthermore, a series of research on the pipejacking for new installation of underground pipeline, and a series of research on the CIPP rehabilitation of underground pipeline were presented with suggestions.
